Beaches in Tarnos (40220) France - advise, map and photos

The small resort of Tarnos, the Landes 4th city, is appreciated for its exceptional location at the mouth of the Adour and the diversity of its landscapes.

Indeed, the town is divided into two parts, the ocean coast, which offers five kilometres of fine sand, and the Barthes, along the river.

If these beaches attract tourists, in Tarnos you can also choose to explore its environment via several trails and circuits laid out by the National Forestry Office.

As for Tarnos beaches, Digue Beach and Metro Beach allow you to relax and for the more sports minded to learn water sports with the two clubs that are on it, sail, kite surfing or paddle. In the morning, along the one-kilometre-long pier and Digue Beach, you can watch the return of the fishing boats and in the evening, the view of the Basque coast and the Rhune whose summit rises to 900 meters above sea level are to the delight of the tourists. On the other side of the pier, there are the beaches of Anglet. Many music festivals are also held including "Oceaniques" which takes place in the Parc de la nature. Further north, the Capbreton resort also offers many activities in the summer season.
