Miramar Beach in Biarritz is located in the continuation of Grande Beach, behind Hotel du Grand Palais. Less known than Grande Beach, is is frequented by the locals. During the summer, it is rather busy. Note that there is lifeguard in the summer.
Surfing and bodyboarding are tolerated. Swimming is dangerous in this zone due to the strong tides and the agitated sea (the current is very strong). Behind the rocks near the lighthouse is Bernain Beach. It has been prohibited for a few years due to falling rocks.
We get to this beach either from Grande Beach or by stairs in the alley Churchill (behind the hotel du Palais).
