Pouliguen’s Pointe de Penchâteau Beach is the first beach of the Côte Sauvage in the Loire Atlantique. The environment becomes more untamed on this part of the coast although there are many villas in the area. At low tide, there are many rocks on this beach which makes swimming difficult. Warning, this beach is not supervised, swimming is at your own risk.
To get to this beach from the centre of Pouliguen, head towards Batz-sur-Mer via the waterfront (indication of the Côte Sauvage). Beware, Boulevard Labego is one way to Batz-sur-Mer (there is also a cycling lane and the coastal footpath). Parking is very difficult in this area, there is very little space for parking (often restricted to houses nearby).
