The seaside resort of La Turballe is located between Le Croisic and Piriac-sur-Mer, near La Baule, on Côte d'Amour. This seaside resort in the Loire-Atlantique region remains active throughout the year thanks to its major fishing port and itsseaside heliotherapy centre. There is also a beautiful 16th century castle in Lauvergnac.
There are 7 beaches in La Turballe, which are spread on both sides of the harbour. This is one of the few resorts of Côte d'Amour to have Blue Flag beaches. The beaches to the south (from the city centre: Bretons, Great Cliff and Pen Bron) are large sandy stretches for several kilometres. The closest beaches of the city centre are family-oriented. There are wilder beaches with views of Le Croisic further away. The beaches to the north (Bastille, Ker-Elisabeth, Port Creux and Belmont) are rockier with many small coves, which are uncovered at low tide.
There are also many trails, which allow strolling towards Pen-Bron and inside of the traict (salt marshes).
