Marais Beach in Le Crotoy is located north of the city center and stretches to St Quentin en Tourmont. This totally pristine area is one of the wildest areas in the Somme. It is very pleasant for a stroll but swimming is more difficult (no seabed, violent changes in sea level, currents can be strong, mud at low tide). However, the beach is south oriented, ideal for sunbathing.

There are several accesses to get to this beach. The most convenient in our opinion and the most central is to go to the end of Jules Noiret dike (parking and playground for children).

This beach north of Crotoy is a wide stretch of sand with a totally wild environment. This picture was taken at high tide, so there is sand left to lie down. However, the sea withdraws very far at low tide.

Jules Noiret dike has the most beautiful view. This beach stretches to the wild beach of St Quentin en Tourmont.

Further south, the beach disappears completely at the dike.

This beach is easily accessible from the dike. There are also other accesses further north.

There are several parking areas. This is the area closest to the city center, at the dam. This is where kite surfers usually park.

There are some games for children along the road.

Along the dike, there is a ramp used by kite surfers. Caution, kite surfing is prohibited on the housing front, currents are strong in this area (and the rise of the sea is rough).
