Our opinion on the North Beach
North of Fort Mahon, at the water sports center, there is a wide sandy beach, which stretches several kilometres along the Somme. This beach is not monitored and mainly used for water sports like windsurfing or kite surfing. One can also enjoy sand yachting towards the Tip of Routhiauville. The space is vast and the environment is totally protected with beautiful dunes.
To get to this beach from the center of Fort-Mahon, go north by the North Maritime Boulevard. After the roundabout, on the left, there is a car park next to the water sport center.
Please note that dogs are allowed on this beach (one is outside the surveillance areas).

At the access, one is close to the city center of Fort-Mahon. This area is not monitored (the monitored area stops at the blue flame at the end of the North Maritime Terrace).
Northward, the beach is completely wild with beautiful dunes. Close to the access, there is a channel reserved for ferryboats and windsurfers.
This is the main access to the beach. The last buildings are on the right.
At the car park, there is a sand yachting school. One can see a bunker in the background of the photo.
