The Grande Conche beach (or beach of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne) is settled between two limestone cliffs: to the north, on the Royan side, it is bordered by the Vallières cliff and to the south, toward Meschers, by the Suzac cliff.
Over 2 km long, the Saint-Georges beach features multiple facilites in the section near the downtown area but is more natural, more pristine toward Suzac Point. Along this immense stretch of fine sand, swimming is supervised during the summer season (several lifeguard stations).
A large variety of activities and services are available: children's play area, beach club, swimming lessons, beach volleyball, nautical base, tent and umbrella rentals, and restaurants.
