The Vergnes beach of Meschers sur Gironde is situated between the forest of Suzac and the Nonnes beach. Here you'll find 400 meters of fine sand bordered by a few small dunes and a forest. On both ends of the beach there are restaurants (open only seasonally). This beach is supervised during summer.
We appreciated this beach especially at low tide. The clear space is vast and the lush green environment gives the impression of being totally isolated. On the other hand, swimming is impossible under these conditions, as the sea retreats too far.
Access is from the boulevard des plages (D25). The northernmost parking lot is visible from the road (there is a restaurant on the side of the road). The second access point is at the extremity of the beach (a sign indicates a restaurant on the beach -- Avenue des Vergnes).
