North of downtown Wissant (at the end of the dam), we find Dune Amont Beach which is also called the beach near Cape Blanc Nez (since it is found on this side of the cape and is visible from the beach). Bordered by immense dunes, the beach is infinite at low tide. The more courageous could even join Cape Blanc Nez near Escalles from the beach (pay attention at high tide since the beach is often reduced to nothing and you'll have to take the path on the cliffs – GR 120).
The area near the dam has a lifeguard in the summer (in front of the dunes between the blue flames). We also find a water sports center and a restaurant on the dam and a little snack area (a food truck in the summer). This is the most frequented beach in Wissant (in the lifeguarded zone) but the beach becomes very wild if you go north (but there is no lifeguard). To us, this is the most beautiful beach in Wissant.
We find a free parking lot at the end of rue Arlette Davids, but it gets full very quickly.
