Near the beachfront of Wissant, downtown, we find Dike Beach. Bordered by a nice pedestrian promenade, this large sand beach at low tide (the beach disappears at hight tide) is protected by a dam. The area does not have a lifeguard (only the beach to the north east has a lifeguard). A few shops and restaurants can be found around the dam.
The beach is agreeable and there are not too many visitors (people generally go to the North beach which is bordered by dunes). The view is lovely from both sides, with a nice view of Cape Gris Nez to the south.
Parking is quite difficult in the summer in Wissant. We find a parking lot to the north of rue Jacques et Pierre Wissant.
