Our opinion on the Hourtin Beach
Hourtin’s ocean beach is located at Hourtin-Plage (12 km away from the village). This large sandy beach stretches for several kilometres from north to south. Only the part at Hourtin-Plage has a lifeguard station. This beach is easily accessible by a trail laid on top of the dune. Ample parking is available with a few shops around the beach (only open during the summer season).
There are also several accesses south and north but they are only accessible by bicycle via the cycle track. Please note, these areas are not supervised and can be very dangerous. It is best to use the area that is supervised.

This ocean beach stretches for several kilometres towards Carcans on the south and Naujac sur Mer on the north.
To arrive at the beach, you must cross the dunes via the trails. The environment is very pleasant and even untamed.
Ample parking is available next to the beach.
