Located in the southwest of France, the beaches of Landes offer an uninterrupted landscape of fine sand beaches with many dunes and pinewoods bordering the Atlantic. The beaches of Landes are relatively agitated and are great for surfers. Families with kids prefer the lakes near the sea. We find many landscaped beaches and can practice water sports activities there.
The most well known seaside destinations in Landes are Hossegor, Seignosse, Vieux-Boucau, Mimizan and Biscarosse. Being touristic destinations, these beaches are uniquely busy in the summer. The rest of the year they are deserted and it can even be difficult to find lodging.
Coming to Landes during vacation is to also visit the neighboring departments, like the beaches of Biarritz with a Belle Epoque style and the beaches of Bassin d'Arachon and the dune de Pyla, which is not to miss.
