Located in the north of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel and only a few kilometres away from Granville, the seaside resort of Saint Pair sur Mer offers a wide sandy beach separated into two at the mouth of the Thar. The south of the resort is called Kairon-Plage. Family orientated, St Pair sur Mer beaches are supervised during the summer season and that of the city centre has a swimming pool directly on the beach which is uncovered at low tide. Ideal for children because the tide goes out very far at low tide in this area. You will also like the seaside which has a pleasant walk with a pedestrian promenade. St Pair has also a casino in the city-centre.
The Channel Islands are close and accessible by boat from Granville (to be visited, with its pretty Plat Gousset Beach). Chausey islands are the nearest (the only French islands, the others are British). In the south, the picturesque charm of the small Carolles resort is worth a visit to see its promenade with its rows of beach huts. Mont Saint Michel is not far away (about 45 minutes’ drive).
