Our opinion on the Vasterival Beach

Straddles the municipalities of Ste Marguerite sur Mer and Varengeville sur Mer, the beach in the cove of Vasterival is one of the finest in the Seine-Maritime. It includes the high cliffs of the Albâtre Coast with some limestone blocks directly on the beach. At low tide, this pebble beach is transformed into a vast stretch of sand where you can shore fish or stroll along the sand. However, this beach is little known and frequented mainly by locals. Beach non-existent at high tide.

To get to this beach from the centre of Varengeville, take the direction of Ste Marguerite by the D75 (Sea Road) and turn right towards Vasterival, a hotel restaurant is indicated, you can follow the signs to reach the small car park next to the access trail to the beach.

Please note that dogs are allowed on this beach.

In this cove in Vasterival there are some rocks on the beach that come directly from the cliff. We see in this picture the boundary between the sand and pebbles.

Vasterival beach towards Dieppe and Pourville

When the weather is clear, you can see as far as Pourville sur Mer and even Dieppe (visible in this photo). The cliffs of the Albâtre Coast are impressive but can be dangerous (do not walk below them).
