The seaside resort of Criel sur Mer, less than 10 kilometres south of Le Tréport, is not a very well known destination in the north of Normandy. It is located on Côte d’Albâtre, near the seaside resort of Picardy and only 30 km from Dieppe, and its geographical position makes the diversity of landscapes enjoyable. High cliffs shelter valleys with pebble and wide sandy beaches, and everyone can find happiness by moving around.
There are two beaches in Criel sur Mer. Criel-Plage is the main one and has a vibrant waterfront in summer. The second one is located in Mesnil-Val (only a few kilometres north) and provides a more peaceful environment (there is a restaurant and beautiful villas on the cliffs but no shops). Both are pebbly with sand at low tide.
The resort’s architecture is interesting with beautiful villas dating from the sea-swimming period.
The resort of Mers les Bains, with its Belle Époque waterfront, is located nearby. Tréport is nearby and lively all year round thanks to the port. A cable car leads to Tréport Beach from the high cliffs. The Bay of Somme is not far away; the opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
