Stagone Beach in Calcatoggio (also known as Liscia Beach, named after the village where it is located) is located in the Gulf of Liscia north of Ajaccio on the road to Cargèse. This large sandy beach stretches more than a kilometre between the towers of Ancona and Capogliolo (at the tip of the same name). Although there are several campsites and hotels, this part of Corsica is little known, the beach is unfrequented even in summer. Note that it is monitored in July and August. In summer one can enjoy water activities. Caution, the beach can be dangerous when the sea is rough.
One can access Stagone Beach from Ajaccio via the D81 towards Cargèse. After the fork to Calcatoggio, keep left and continue on the D81 for 4 km. Turn left (many billboards) towards Orcino (caution, the sign is barely visible coming from Ajaccio). The first beach access is at the campsite of A-Marina 200 meters away. A second car park is available by continuing along the road after the various hotels and residences.
Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach in July and August.
