Our opinion on the Salie South Beach
Salie South Beach in Pyla sur Mer is the southernmost beach in town. It is located before the military base and near the Wharf. This beach does not have a great reputation since it is next to the wharf that sends treated water into the ocean. That is might be why dogs are allowed on this beach. In general, this beach is only frequented by surfers looking for a good wave.
This beach is accessible from the D218 toward Biscarrosse coming from Pyla sur Mer. You can access the beach from the same route as for Pyla Nord Beach, then turn to the left after 200 meters following Salie-Sud. We find a parking lot near the path leading to the beach.

We are between the beaches Salie Nord and Salie Sud. We can begin to see the Wharf on the left (a large hose pours out treated waters from the Bassin d'Arcachon).
We find a duckboard path. The path is more narrow that that of Salie Nord beach.
Near the entrance to this beach and parking lot, we find a restaurant in the pine trees.
