Beaches in Arcachon (33120) France - advise, map and photos

Located to the north of the department Landes, Arcachon is the most reputed seaside resort in Gironde. To the south of the Bassin d'Arcachon, this destination is very much appreciated by the people from Bordeaux who like to come here on the weekends. Lively all year long, it offers a great coast, because unlike other seaside destinations in France, we are not directly on the ocean, but a lake. With shallow waters and a long stretch of sand, water calm and warm, this is the ideal spot for family vacations. The choice is vast! Several central beaches are found in Arcachon for those who like the movement of downtown, two beaches on the edge of the pinewood for those looking for some calm or a chic beach in the Moulleau neighborhood. With such a large choice, everyone will find something here.

Arcachon is not exclusively a sea destination! During your stay, you can visit the winter city where we find beautiful villas from previous centuries in the middle of the pinewood, the aquarium which holds animals found in the lake or the seafront of the city in the summer. The surroundings are exceptional with the famous dune de Pyla only a few kilometers away, and the villages of the Bassin d'Arcachon (Herbe, one of the most beautiful or Cap Ferret with its lighthouse and nice villas) that we can discover thanks to the boats that traverse (we can discover the houses on stilts from the boat ride).

For an original outing, we can spend the day on the banc d'Arguin between the Atlantic Ocean, bassin d'Arcachon and the dune de Pilat.
