Our opinion on the Corniche Beach
Corniche Beach in Pyla sur Mer is located at the foot of the Dune du Pilat, across from the Banc d'Arguin a the entrance of the Bassin d'Arcachon. In our opinion, it is the most original beach in the region, and the most beautiful in Pyla sur Mer. There is a lifeguard in the summer (first-aid station north of the Dune). We also find a snack bar near the beach on the path leading to the beach.
To get here from Arcachon, take avenue de l'Ocean then avenue Louis Gaume. At the sharp curve, you will find stairs that lead to the beach (there are also some parking spots). At the bottom of the stairs, take a left on the cement path. The beach is at the end (about 150 meters).
Note that it's possible to climb the Dune du Pilat from this beach which allows you to avoid paying for parking at the Dune de Pyla (however, there is not a nice staircase!).

Here is the beach found at the foot of the highest dune in Europe. Very impressive.
A long stretch of sand between the Bassin d'Arcachon and across from the Banc d'Arguin.
We are near the first-aid station where we have a global view of the Dune du Pilat and of the neighboring beaches to the south.
To get here, take a landscaped path along the sea and the Corniche.
After the snack bar we arrive on sand. A landscaped path facilitates access in the summer.
Near the large bend in the avenue Louis Gaume, we find stairs that lead to the Corniche, then the beach.
We find a few parking spots along the road. In the summer parking is difficult.
