Behind the small port of Carro in Martigues, there is a small public beach made up of sand, pebbles and rocks. This beach is very narrow but has the advantage of a free car park close by. Access is through the port (quai Jean Verandy), then by the Ragues street.
Note that this area is also a favourite spot for windsurfers and there is an area for spearfishing near the Seinche road.
