Port de Bouc is located in the Gulf of Fos sur Mer between Martigues and Fos sur Mer. The environment is not the most pleasant one, with oil activities on each side. Nevertheless, there are a few sand and pebble beaches in Port de Bouc. They are not very big but they are very refreshing in summer.
In summer, Port de Bouc is lively thanks to its port where there are sardinade evenings, a specialty of the city. One can thus enjoy grilled sardines in the port’s many restaurants but also many delicacies from the sea.
From Port de Bouc, one can explore the Blue Coast with its famous seaside resorts and enjoy the beaches of La Couronne or the beaches of Sausset les Pins. Further west, one enters in Camargue with Port Saint Louis and a huge sandy beach and Salin de Giraud.
Among the big cities to visit, Martigues at the edge of the pond of Berre offers a pleasant setting with its canals and harbour. Deeper inland, Arles is also a must see with its Roman monuments.
