Plouhinec’s Kervégant Beach is located in the east of the commune only 1.5 km (roughly 1 mile) from the mouth of the Etel River. Please take care when bathing here as the waters are known to be very rough at times. It is a protected beach with massive built-up dunes. Its isolated location and difficult access make it less frequented than most. In summer, the beach is monitored and facilitates disabled access (parking just 100 metres from the beach as opposed to the off-peak car park which is 500 metres away). It is one of two beaches in Plouhinec with the Blue Flag label.
Getting here is a little complicated. Coming from Belz, take the bridge crossing the Etel River at the hamlet of Pont-Lorois (D781) then take the second road on the left (“Rue de Kervarlay” – follow the road indicating a Chapel). When you reach the crossing, turn left where the beach is signposted and from there simply follow the signs until you get to the car park which is around 500 metres from the beach.
