Grande Mer Beach in Cassis is the biggest beach found downtown (about 200 meters long). This public beach has a lifeguard in the summer and offers a mixture of sand and gravel. It is situated behind the harbor of Cassis, between the Gilbert Savon square and the Mediterranean Sea. From Grande Mer Beach we have a great view of the Cassis castle.
We can find a restaurant and many activities on this beach. A little parking lot is available behind the beach (paying – impossible to find a spot in season). Behind this lot, we find the harbor with the depart for the calanques. On the left of this beach we can take the promenade des Lombards which allows us to join a little wild beach near Pignier stadium.
