Acciolu Bay is located south of the desert of the Agriates. There are several small sandy coves at the foot of steep hills. The environment is beautiful with turquoise water and sandy seabed. These coves are unfrequented (the first is called Cala di a Recisa), one is often alone on the beach, and some boats are moored in the bay. However, one has to avoid it when the sea is rough because swimming is dangerous.
It is accessible only on foot via the coastal footpath (or by the sea), and the starting point is the car park of Ostriconi Beach (see our directions to find it). One must cross it in a northerly direction, and cross the dune to reach Vana Cove. The coastal footpath continues from the inside, past the ruined barn. The panorama is unobstructed towards Acciolu Bay. Trails come down the creeks.
