Our opinion on the Bains de la Police Beach
Located across from of hotel Suisse, at the end of the Quai des Etats-Unis going toward the harbor of Nice, the beach Bains de la Police is divided into two zones.
On the right side, next to Castel Beach, we find a stone beach accessible when you pass in front of a building and on the footbridge (dangerous out of season as it is not kept up). In the summer this zone is transformed into a private beach managed by the Police Nationale (access for policemen but also for the public – in 2014 mattress rental was 15 euros a day. We also find a restaurant here. This is without a doubt the most uncomfortable private beach in Nice but it the safest!
To the left, we find rocks. This is a good zone for tanning as swimming is dangerous even if it is allowed. A sign indicates “You are in a boat launching zone where swimming and water sports are allowed but at your own risk and peril”.

In the summer (July and August) this beach is totally private. It is managed by the police.
Near the entrance we find a restaurant with a terrace that is only open in the summer. A second restaurant is available on the beach.
Along the coastal path going toward the harbor, a few rocks allow us to more easily move along. We can see a few people in the photo. In our opinion, swimming is too dangerous here.
Near Castel, we find some rocks that attract youth.
Swimming seems dangerous in this zone even if the sign indicates its permission. The sea unhinged here, which is rare in Nice.
