The most rugged coastline on the French coast is located in Finistère. The seaside resorts of Finistère are not very commonly known, probably because of the weather and the water temperature, which is rather low even in summer. However, the beaches in Finistère are of great diversity and have some gems that can be classified among the most beautiful French beaches.
South Finistère is the most touristic. The best-known resorts are located in the continuity of the beaches of Morbihan (around Quimper) with Concarneau and Douarnenez. Then comes the peninsula of Crozon, a real gem south of the bay of Brest.
In the west, Le Conquet is the star resort near Brest with its charming fishing port. Offshore, Ouessant offers a wild setting where time seems to stand still. This is the coast of Iroise, which is renowned for its sandy coves, estuaries and small fishing ports.
The Coast of Abers, its many estuaries and a little known and wild coast, the Leon including the Gulf Stream, makes it very nice with beautiful beaches, and then the Trégor astride Côtes d'Armor succeed each other in North Finistère.
The beaches and resorts of the Pays de la Loire with long sandy beaches are located further south. In the north, the beaches of Ille et Vilaine are without a doubt the most exclusive beaches in Brittany then comes the resorts of Normandy.
Located in the Finistere department of Brittany, fifteen kilometres from Quimper, the seaside resort of Bénodet, the centre of which is at the mouth of the Odet, offers a variety of beaches.
