Located in Southern Brittany, the seaside resort of Concarneau is a very important tourist destination for Brittany. Its originality comes from its city constructed near the harbour and accessible by a fortified bridge. This is the historic town of Concarneau. The walkway along the walls allows you to discover its magnificent views. There are also some beautiful granite houses in the Vauban Street. Concarneau is also the starting point for the Glénan archipelago consisting of nine main islands.
There are numerous beaches in Concarneau. The Sables Blancs Beach is the main one. This is where we find many activities in the summer season. Some beautiful houses dating back to the Belle Epoque showing that Concarneau has long been a seaside destination. The Cornwall Beach (nearest port) and the Belle Etoile Beach are also very popular. But we prefer Kernous Beach which is more difficult to access, and therefore a little bit more preserved. It is reached by beautiful trails. This cove is, in our opinion, one of the most beautiful of the Finistère.
Nearby Concarneau there are many points of interest. Bénodet resort is popular for its location straddling the ocean and a river. Fouesnant beaches also offer a wide choice. To the east, the beaches of Morbihan are close by, as are the resorts around Lorient (Guidel-Plage, Ploemeur or Larmor-Plage).
