Located in the Finistere Trégor (Brittany - Finistere North, near the department of Côtes-d’Armor), on horseback in the bay of Morlaix and Lannion, the village of Saint-Jean-du-Doigt owes its name to the relic of the finger of St.John the Baptist (15th century) which is at the origin of many cures (procession the last Sunday of June after Mass). The village has kept the charm away from tourist resorts. The offer in accommodation is poor, one will find only some renting between private individuals, often in typical lodgings of Brittany.
Near the center of the village, there is the only beach of Saint Jean du Doigt that is shared with the town of Plougasnou. This vast stretch of sand (only pebbles with high tidal coefficient) is very family. There are also surfers in northeastern winds. The GR34 makes it possible to reach the beaches of Plougasnou and Primel-Trégastel (not to be confused with the Trégastel beaches who are further east on the Granit Rose coast). Just a few kilometers away, a charming coastal road takes us to the beaches of Locquirec where the choice for the swimming is more extensive.
Hiking enthusiasts will be able to go on the GR34 with a course which allows to discover old mills.
