Beaches in Ile de Batz (29253) France - advise, map and photos

Located opposite Roscoff in Finistere, the island of Batz is part of the Ponant Islands. We join it in 15 minutes from the port of Roscoff by boat. It takes about 4 hours to go around (about 10 km). About 500 inhabitants live there, mostly of tourism but also of fishing and agriculture. Its micro climate allows to see Mediterranean species some of which are visible in the exotic garden Georges Delaselle where we can see tropical species. The activity of the island is in the south at the level of the village of Porz-Kernok (this is where we find the two hotels, bed and breakfasts and cottages). The northern part of the island is wilder with some beautiful sandy beaches left wild and mostly deserted.

There are many beaches on the island of Batz. Of the busiest at the main village (jetty) to the small wild cove, the choice is vast. On the other hand none of the beaches has a surveillance. Those who prefer the secured beaches will have to turn torwards the beaches of Roscoff, on the island of Batz one seeks more the wild side…the change of scenery…
