Beaches in Ploemeur (56270) France - advise, map and photos

Situated in northern Brittany, close to Lorient, the town of Ploemeur offers a little known and unspoilt coastline. Several hamlets near the beaches provide a resort atmosphere but people come to Ploemeur for its unspoilt side. There is also a very important megalithic heritage (Menhir, Dolmen, Mounds and covered walkway). Golf enthusiasts will find a pleasant golf course (near Fort Bloqué).

There are several beaches in Ploemeur. Four are supervised in the summer season: Stole, Pérello, Kaolins and Fort Bloqué. Many small coves and beaches in addition to these. There is also an area where naturism is tolerated. The only regret is the absence of dog friendly beaches in the summer season.

With regards to the entertainment side, it is not one of the liveliest resorts. It is rather a family orientated resort that tries to stand out and make itself known. In the summer season, every Thursday, there are free organised concerts. By the sea, there is a pleasant walk which leads to Kerpape Beach from the village of Lomener.

Near Ploemeur, you will find Larmor-Plage which is one of the best known resorts near Lorient. To the west, you will appreciate the coastline and beaches of Guidel, which are renowned for surfing.
