Beaches in Erquy (22430) France - advise, map and photos

The seaside resort of Erquy, capital of the scallop, is a great family-oriented destination in summer. It is popular for its generous nature (pink sandstone cliffs covered in moors and heather) with the cape of Erquy and many trails offering spectacular views of the coast, probably one of the most beautiful in Brittany. The Cape is also very famous for fishing on foot. The path leads to the peninsula from the village of Tu-es-Roc (port of Erquy, western part of the peninsula) to the resort of Sables d'Or les Pins.

The beaches of Erquy are one of the best beaches in Brittany. The wildest are located in the north between the Cape of Erquy and the port of the Hospitals. We prefer the beaches of Lourtuais and Portuais, which are nestled in beautiful coves in a classified site. Accesses are made on foot (10 to 30 minutes). One can visit them in the morning or in the evening to enjoy an exceptional light. The beaches in the center are more conventional.

There are many points of interest near Erquy, such as the famous Cape Frehel. There is a beautiful beach only a few kilometres away, in the small resort of Sables d'Or les Pins (also a beautiful oceanfront golf for amateurs). The beaches of Pléneuf are also nearby and offer a nice diversity.

Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beaches of Erquy from May 15 to 15 September (bylaw).
