Our opinion on the Pors ar Goret Beach
The beach of Pors ar Goret of Roscoff has several advantages : its fine sand, the fact of being close to the shops of the city center, to be bordered by rather deep waters, which makes that the tide never retreats very far. The presence of pebbles in some corner as well as the reduced space limits the possibilities of beach games however. The setting is quite typical : the port and the chapel Sainte-Barbe make pretty parentheses to this beach town.
« Pors ar Goret » means « port of the fishery », it is a toponym that we often find on this north Brittany coast.

The dike provides protection against the wind and a bit against the sun at the hottest of the day.
The nicest part is on the right, under the Sainte-Barbe chapel. That is where we find the finest sand.

At mid beach there is a little more pebbles.
On the horizon, behind the port, you can see the pier that allows you to embark at low tide and further afield the island of Batz torwards which shuttles leave from the port.
Strategic position around the bay of Morlaix, the port still contains some blockhouses from the Second World War. Some have been integrated into homes.
