Platere beach in Angoulins - France

Our opinion on the Platere beach

South of the peninsula of Angoulins, Platere beach offers a preserved environment two steps from the oyster area of the marsh of Chay. Crescent shaped, it opens to the ocean between the tip of Belette (it is the most exposed tip to the winter storms, we can see at low tide the remains of the Atlantic Wall – this shows the old coastline) and of Chirats. 

Well equipped with a first aid station in summer (opening according to the tide schedule, we can not swim at low tide), toilets and showers, a nautical center and some restaurants along the road, it offers an interesting option to the nearby touristic beaches (like the big beach of Châtelaillon). Attendance is quite low.

On the right side, several squares among one of which may be rented for the day.

Also an area for motorhomes.
