Pinewood beach (Pinède) in Calvi is the main beach of the city. It stretches from the port of Calvi to Lumio. This beach is bordered by a large pine forest and is the most popular. There are numerous private beaches, restaurants, and it is possible to practice numerous water activities (buoys, pedal...) in the area closest to the city centre. This is not the most peaceful area! There are more and more public spaces in the direction of Lumio. Attendance is lower (even in summer) and one can enjoy the beautiful view of the citadel. The beach is monitored by area (mainly in the harbour) and there are picnic tables in the pine forest (also a playground for children near the tennis courts).
There are many ways to get to this beach. A pedestrian path is equipped from the port. There are also several accesses on the N197 with car parks in the shade of the pine forest. Another way is to take the train to the beaches (several stops along the Bay of Calvi).
