Roncu beach in Calvi is located at the tip of St. Francis (near the citadel). This small bay is little known and mostly visited by the locals. This is our best pick in downtown Calvi. The coating is nice (fine gravel) and the environment beautiful (rocks, vegetation), although it is not covered in sand. You can lie either on the beach or on the smooth rocks. It is very quiet, even in summer. The only drawback is that you need to use shoes when swimming.
To get to this beach from lower Calvi (or the port), head towards Ajaccio or Porto by the sea by the D81B (Uruguay av). There is a large bend after the car park. Turn right on St. Francis Avenue just before it (see last picture), then first left (Ronco way). The access path to the beach is at the end. No parking spaces.
