Our opinion on the Ghjunchitu Beach
Ghjunchitu Beach(or Giunchetu beach) in Corbara is located 5 km southwest of Ile Rousse. It is a secluded beach stretching on about 500 meters of fine sand with a dense maquis. The environment is very nice and the beach has good attendance even in summer (see our pictures). On the right side, there are some rocks and a tavern with mattress rentals. This is, in our view, one of the most beautiful beaches nearby Ile Rousse. Dogs on leash are not allowed.
To get to this beach from the centre of Ile Rousse, take the direction of Calvi by the D513 then continue on the D197 towards Lumio. 1.2 Km after the exit of Ile Rousse, you will find a first paid car park (€ 2.5 in 2013, Bodre car park), the beach is about 600 meters away and provides access to the northern part of the beach (you can also reach from this car park Botre beach). If you continue 400 meters on the N197, there is a second car park on the right (2.5 €, Ghjunchitu car park). It is 250 meters from the beach (south area).

Corbara beach is little known yet one of the most beautiful beaches in northern Corsica. There are rocks on the right side; the rest of the beach is covered in sand.
How to resist this dream landscape? This photo was taken in late July; attendance is decent for this kind of beach.
This beach is very nice with family because you can touch the bottom very far (to avoid on windy days, however).
