The village of Belgodère, located in Balagne between Ile Rousse and the desert of the Agriates, overlooks the valley of Prato. The village leads to an old ruined fort from which the view of the valley is magnificent.
Belgodère also has a seafront (away from the village) where there is a large sandy beach, Lozari Beach, which is shared with the town of Palasca and from where one can see Ile Rousse and the peninsula of La Pietra. There are many tourist facilities offering seasonal rentals along it. However, there is no real city centre.
For sailing enthusiasts, Ostriconi Beach is just a few kilometres away. It is wide and long. The sea is often rough so it is recommended for water sports. The desert of the Agriates starting on this beach is also an opportunity to hike in search of the beautiful secret coves of Corsica. The beaches of Ile Rousse are located further south and offer vacationers a lively center in summer.
