Omaha Beach (or Golden Beach) ends west of the town of Vierville sur Mer. Approximately 2.5 km of fine sand bordered by the road with a beach that extends considerably at low tide. The beach is supervised in the summer season and there are a few shops around the west side of the Rue de la Mer. East side, we reach the area of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer with monuments commemorating the landing of June 1944. Despite the presence of the road, the beach is still nice. Nevertheless, Saint-Laurent is a little better equipped for walking (promenade). Parking is directly along the roadside.
