North beach in Wimereux - France

Our opinion on the North beach

There is a sandy beach divided into two areas at the north dike in Wimereux. The first, closest to the city center, is very rocky and popular for fishing from the shore. There is a beautiful sandy cove in the hollow cliffs one hundred meters away further north. The beach is lovely with a preserved environment. However, one must be careful because landslides are frequent.

Note that swimming is prohibited in these areas because they are reserved for kite surfing. There is also a channel for motorized vehicles.

At the seawall promenade, there is a large playground for children on the sand with a beach volleyball court, many games for the younger ones and a seasonal indoor pool where one can learn how to swim.

These beaches are located north of the mouth of Wimereux (leading to the city center by a small bridge). There are kiosks in the surroundings selling ice cream and sandwiches.

Please note that dogs are allowed on the beach (on leash).
