Our opinion on the Slack Dune Beach
Slack Dune Beach is between Wimereux (next to the golf course and at Pointe aux Oies) and Ambleteuse (at the mouth of the Slack). Slack dunes border this vast sand and pebble beach on the edge (it is a protected natural site, one cannot get off the beaten track, the dunes are protected). It is totally wild and swimming is not monitored. It is also a very famous kite surfing spot in the north of France.
There are two areas. The one in Ambleteuse is accessible through the D940 towards Wimereux. There is a trail on the right after the bridge over the Slack with a free car park. Access to the beach is a bit long (about 1 km on foot) but the scenery is magnificent; it is an opportunity to enjoy a nice family walk.
The second access is close to Pointe des Oies in Wimereux. From the city center of Wimereux, take the D940 towards Ambleteuse. At the golf, there is a first car park at Pointe des Oies and a second one 600 meters away on the left (the beach is easily accessible from this one via stairs (200 meters on foot).

The view of the Slack dunes and the beach from Pointe des Oies is nice. One can see Ambleteuse in the distance.
There are many rocks and pebbles on the nearest part of the dune (and of Pointe des Oies). The beach is wide and sandy in the distance. The dunes are very impressive.
The coast is very rocky in Pointe des Oies. One especially comes here for boulonnais mussels. The vast sandy beach and the Slack dunes are in the background.
One can see here the different accesses from Pointe des Oies with trails leading to the beach (there are stairs at the main entrance).
There is a first car park at Pointe des Oies.
This is a view of the Slack Dunes becoming Ambleteuse (after the Vauban fort and the nautical center at the mouth of the Slack). A path leads to this area in the direction of Wimereux (access is longer than at Pointe des Oies).
There is car park from Ambleteuse. Access is through very pleasant paths (family stroll).
