Saint Cast le Guildo’s Mare Beach gives the impression that it is smaller and more secluded than its neighbours of La Fresnaye and La Fosse. Yet Mare Beach still measures 250 m. Facing north, the tide goes out far less, perhaps this explains it. Anyway, it has not quite the same charm, even though the maritime setting is wonderful and the views of the Fort-la-Latte Castle are always impressive. Its North orientation also leaves it prone to big waves. The cliffs have suffered numerous landslides. A part of the beach shows this. There is a small campsite overlooking the cove.
To get to this beach from the centre of Saint Cast, head north on the D19 and follow the direction of the VVF Village (the beach is next to the holiday centre).
