The main beach in Girolata, Focaghia Beach, is one of the most touristic beaches in the gulf thanks to the numerous boats, which come to discharge passengers visiting the village of Girolata, which is accessible only by sea or by a long hiking trail. Adjoining the port, it is a mixture of sand and pebbles that are offered to the many tourists lined by many tourist establishments (bars, restaurants). Note that the quality of the water is not always good (probably because of the incessant back-and-forth movement of the boats).
The easiest way is to access this beach by the sea. The bravest can take the mule track starting at the Col de la Croix (car park and refreshments available). It takes about 1:45 (7 km) to reach Girolata through Tuara Beach (3 km, 45 minutes).
