Descenderie Beach in Sangatte is located to the south of the seaside destination and extends to Cape Blanc Nez. This vast sand beach is crowded during the year since there is a direct access by car just one minute from the beach. In season, many swimmers come here to find tranquility. It is also the zone that transitions between the urban and wild beaches (going toward the south). A few blockhaus are hidden on the left.
It is equally a reputed kitesurfing area as there is always wind in Sangatte. However, you need to be prudent since there are some breakwaters.
To get to this beach from downtown, follow directions for Wissant on the departementale (route). At the exit of the city, after the residence Maison Blanche (blue sign) and near the garage du Tunnel, we find access on the right. A small parking lot is found across from here (only 14 spots) or along the road.
