Our opinion on the Arone Beach
Located 14 km southwest of Piana, Arone Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica (or at least the Gulf of Porto and the west coast). Surrounded by pink rocks and scrub, one can even see Capo Rosso from this long white sandy beach 750 meters long. Nearby and along the beach, there are many amenities (restaurants, bars, campsites and vacation rentals). Note that this beach has an aid station opened in summer. From a historical perspective, this beach was used as landing point for the Casabianca submarine since 1942.
For those looking for comfort, there are at least three private beaches in Arone and on the right side, there is a restaurant with panoramic views of the bay.
To get to this beach from the centre of Piana, take the D824 on the right towards Arone and Vistale after the church. It takes about 20 minutes by car to reach the beach along a narrow road with beautiful views of the Gulf of Porto and Capo Rosso. It is not always easy to find a parking space in summer.

This is the view of Arone Beach from the road. The view of the neighbouring capes surrounding this large sandy beach is very nice.
The environment is very much preserved with the maquis. It is isolated from the centre of Piana; one can find here the necessary shops for a vacation.
The view of Arone Beach from the restaurant is beautiful.
As you can see in this picture, there are some buildings around the beach. We are far from this totally wild beach but it is easily accessible by car, which is not always the case in this part of Corsica.
It is possible to rent mattresses it the centre of this beach.
On the right side of the beach, there is a restaurant with a private beach.
