Olmeta in Haute-Corse is located in the Cap Corse between Farinole and Nonza on the west coast. Its small Marine of Negru (marine = small port) is the major point of interest of this commune of Corsica. Enclaved, the Marine of Negru is a real haven of peace in a green setting. There is a nice wild beach with black pebbles. Around this navy, we find an endemic flora and fauna of Cap-Corse. Next to it, there is a Genoese tower (very well preserved), a bridge with two arches spanning the river and some interesting houses.
The village of Olmeta is located away from the sea. Like in the different villages of the Cap Corse, numerous walks or promenades are possible. The gardens of Olmeta allow through a 1.9 km loop (about 1h10) to discover the old mill of Cariacciu, irrigation canals, a beautiful view on Saint-Erasme chapel and also the fountain and the laundry of Poghju.
