The seaside resort of Tréport, located in the north of Normandy, near the beaches of Picardy, is very busy in summer (it is only 2h30 from Paris). This small fishing port at the mouth of Bresle is surrounded by high cliffs, which are typical of Côte d’Albâtre. The view of the waterfront of Mers les Bains from the docks in the north is beautiful (the coastline is magnificent with beautiful houses unlike Tréport which coastline is disfigured by non-descript buildings).
Tréport Beach is a beautiful pebble beach stretching several hundred meters towards the cliffs (over 100 meters high). In summer, one can even rent beach huts or read on deckchairs provided by the General Council. There are sandbanks at low tide.
One can access the upper town of Tréport from the beach by funicular passing through the cliff (it's free and very impressive). One can also go to the top of the cliff by stairs (about 380 steps) (possible by car), which is topped by a cross. The view is stunning and stretches to the Bay of Somme. Tréport and the charming district of Cordiers, in the foreground, attract attention (old fishing district). In the evening, the cliffs are illuminated, an opportunity to discover the city in another way.
