Located in the department of Seine-Maritime, Varengeville-sur-Mer is a family friendly destination, known for its seaside cemetery where are buried some figures such as Georges Braque.
The town is located in the Pays de Caux and near Dieppe. The cemetery has the distinction of being built on the edge of the cliff, like the Saint-Valéry church. The view from the site is superb and it is particularly well preserved. All around, there are many gardens including that of Shamrock, which has the largest collection of hydrangeas in the world, and the Bois des Moutiers, where we can observe the giant rhododendrons. The city is also famous for its flowers and many people come from March to November to observe their blooms.
Holiday makers like to relax on the beaches of Varengeville sur Mer and the surroundings that are in the valleys (the town is surrounded exclusively by cliffs, the sea front is totally untamed), that of Petit Ailly or Moutiers. Nearby, there are resorts whose waterfront is more accessible, such as the beaches of Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer or Pourville.
Dieppe but also Saint-Valéry-en-Caux, Tréport and Veules-les-Roses are beautiful towns to visit and are located near Varengeville.
