The seaside resort of Jullouville is located in Normandy in the north of the bay of Mont Saint Michel and south of Granville. It faces the Breton resort of Cancale.
A large beach in Jullouville stretches from Carolles-Plage in the south to Saint-Pair-sur-Mer in the north, that is to say 2 km of fine sand. It has two aid stations (open in July and August). Its authentic side and beach huts (some are unfortunately in poor condition) as well as the long pedestrian promenade on the seafront are a popular tourist destination. The beach becomes a vast playground at low tide, where it is possible to practice sand yachting. One also comes to fish from the shore. The southern district of Jullouville (at the limit with Carolles-Plage) is called Edenville, literature providing different denominations for this beach (Jullouville-Edenville Beach).
Every year in May, Jullouville Beach becomes a vast racecourse for a day. It is one of the four French transitory racetracks (the others are in Plestin les Grèves, Lancieux in Cotes d'Armor and Plouescat in Finistere).
