Situated in the Pyrénées-Orientales, the seaside resort of Cerbere has the particularity of being the southernmost of France, the ansa of Terrimbo, below the Cape of Peyrefite. A part of the Côte Vermeille, it is at the Spanish border.
Originally a small fishing port between Cap Canadell and Cap Cerbere, it is also located on a natural marine reserve extending to Banyuls, the only exclusively marine reserve in France. A path has been created to make access possible to all its riches.
There are several beaches in Cerbere as well as small coves. The main beach is awarded the "Blue Flag" every year for the quality of its bathing waters. You can also choose to go to the beach of "Del Saurels" which is reached by a small path on the anse of Bou Fallut, but only by boat, and those that are around Banyuls-sur-Mer: the beach of Petit tunnel (by boat or for the more energetic swim from the dam), of Peyrefite... The cove of Bon Pomé is also very pretty and not known by many holiday makers. A little further north, we can go to the beaches of Collioure, which for the majority are located near the city centre.
