Beaches in Collioure (66190) France - advise, map and photos

Ancient city specializing in anchovy fishing, Collioure is now an agreeable seaside destination in the Pyrenees Orientales, near Spain on the Cote Vermeille. The Bay of Collioure is picture perfect with its chateau Royal and church so close to the sea we could almost say it is on the beach. The harbor with its little colored Catalan boats brings a picturesque feel.

Collioure has stayed very authentic with the typical seaboard and beautiful restored houses along the beaches and its seafront promenade with cafes and restaurants. The main beach is wedged between the chateau Royal and the church and offers a nice view of the Bay of Collioure. We find the ancient island St-Vincent and two beaches back to back with a little chapel and a lighthouse at the end of the dam. From here is the most beautiful view of Collioure and the Cote Vermeille.

Make a detour in the old neighborhood Mouré behind Boramar Beach in the tiny steep streets to see the beautiful homes.

More to the south you can benefit from the many little creeks of Port Vendres and Banyuls sur Mer. To the north are large stretches of sand with the beaches of Saint-Cyprien or Canet-Plage. A vast choice only twenty minutes from Collioure.
